The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is the statutory framework that sets the standards that all Early Years providers, including Paper Moon Nurseries must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe.
Children develop more rapidly during the first five years of their lives than at any other time. That's why the foundation years are often referred to as the building blocks for life!
• Communication and Language (CL)
• Physical Development (PD)
• Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSE)
Your child’s key worker will help your child to develop and learn through playing, using a variety of equipment and resources. Through play they will support them in the development of their personal, social and emotional skills, as well as keeping them safe. Your child’s allocated key worker will give you lots of feedback about what your child has been doing during the day, what they enjoy and how they are progressing. They should also give you ideas as to how you can support your child's learning and development at home.
All 3 and 4 year olds are entitled to 15 hours of free early education each week, for 38 weeks a year. You will not be charged a fee for this free place. These free places are be flexible (dependent on availability), to help you make the most of as much of your child's entitlement as possible. These hours can be taken between 8am and 6pm.
Some 2 year olds may be entitled to 15 hours free early education and Paper Moon Nurseries offer places to families who may need this. However, places are limited and allocated to those young children in most need and are actioned by the local authority. You can get more information about this from your local Children's Centre or Local Authority website.
